Emily is 24 and she is an African American. Emily sells purses in downtown Pittsburgh. She works so hard during the week on the weekend she goes to the woods with her family to a cabin. While they are camping they like to go hiking, and have nightly camp fires.

After she recently went camping with her family she didn’t show up for work on Monday. She didn’t go to work because she had a fever, and a headache. Later that day she took a shower and she saw a red spot on her leg and it looked like a rash. So she decided to go to the doctors. The doctor took a blood test to see if she had Lyme disease. The doctor asked Emily how long did she have the tick bite and she said for like a week now. She said she was feeling worn out and tired and wasn’t sure what was wrong with her.

He believes she has Lyme disease. The doctor gave her a prescription for an antibiotic to help.
